Ingredients

  • 1 oz Baileys Irish Cream (for a creamy, rich base)
  • 1 oz peppermint schnapps (adds a cool, minty flavor)
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur (for a smooth, chocolatey depth)
  • ½ oz espresso or strong coffee (to give the shot a bold, coffee kick)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shot glass: Start by choosing a small shot glass, preferably one that can hold around 2 ounces. You can rim the glass with crushed peppermint candies or cocoa powder to add a festive touch and a little extra flavor. To do this, simply dip the rim of the glass into some melted chocolate or a bit of honey, then roll it in crushed candies or cocoa powder. This will give your shots a delightful, decorative finish.
  2. Combine the ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add 1 oz of Baileys Irish Cream, 1 oz of peppermint schnapps, and 1 oz of chocolate liqueur. These three ingredients will form the rich, creamy base of your shot. Then, add ½ oz of espresso or strong coffee to give the shot an energizing coffee flavor that balances the sweetness of the other ingredients. Fill the shaker with ice to chill the ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Shake well: Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds. This ensures the ingredients are well-combined and chilled to perfection. The ice will also help dilute the shot slightly, making it smooth and balanced.
  4. Strain into the shot glass: Strain the mixture into your prepared shot glass. You should see a creamy, mocha-colored shot with a hint of minty green from the peppermint schnapps. The texture will be smooth, with a rich chocolate and mint flavor profile.
  5. Serve and enjoy: Serve the Baileys Peppermint Mocha Shot immediately, and watch your guests enjoy the creamy, minty mocha goodness. For an extra touch of festivity, you can garnish the shot with a mini candy cane or a sprinkle of crushed peppermint on top.
