Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the bread once it’s baked.
- Mix the wet ingredients. In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. This ensures the spices and leavening agents are evenly distributed throughout the bread.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter, as this can make the bread denser.
- Pour the batter into the pan. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it out evenly. The batter will be thick, which is perfect for a moist loaf.
- Bake the bread. Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The top should be golden and slightly cracked.
- Cool and serve. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve it warm, or store it in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
