Butter Pecan Praline Poke Cake

Prepare the Praline Sauce:

While the cake is baking, prepare the sweet praline sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweetened condensed milk and butter. Stir continuously until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth. Once the butter has melted, add the chopped pecans to the saucepan and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the pecans to toast slightly in the sauce. This will deepen the flavor of the pecans and enhance the richness of the sauce.

Poke and Pour the Sauce:

Once the cake has cooled for about 10 minutes, use the handle of a wooden spoon or a skewer to poke holes evenly all over the surface of the cake. Be sure to poke deep enough to allow the sauce to soak in, but not so deep that you break the cake apart. Slowly pour the warm praline sauce evenly over the top of the cake, allowing it to sink into the holes. The sauce will seep into the cake, making it extra moist and flavorful.

Cool and Serve:

Let the cake cool completely in the pan before serving. As the cake cools, the sauce will set slightly, creating a deliciously gooey, caramel-like texture. Once cooled, slice the cake into squares and serve. The rich, nutty flavor of the cake, combined with the creamy frosting and sweet praline sauce, will make this dessert a crowd favorite. Enjoy!
