Caramel-Filled Chocolate Cake

1️⃣ Prepare the Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C.Ensure the oven is fully heated before baking for even rise and texture.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt) in a bowl.Whisk until completely combined to remove any cocoa lumps and distribute leaveners evenly.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla, then whisk.The mixture should start to look smooth and glossy at this stage.
  4. Finally, add the hot water and mix until smooth.The batter will become very thin—this is expected and results in a softer, moister cake.
  5. Pour into a greased 8–9-inch (20–22 cm) pan.Smooth the top gently so it bakes evenly.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes and let cool completely.The cake should spring back lightly when touched and pull slightly from the pan edges.
