1️⃣ Prepare the Dough
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
2️⃣ Bake
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set. The center will continue to firm up as it cools.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before removing or decorating.
