Part 2: The Ice Cream Filling
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts (1.89 liters) chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, slightly softened
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- First Ice Cream Layer: Spread half of the softened ice cream evenly over the frozen crust.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over the first layer.
- Second Ice Cream Layer: Spread the remaining ice cream evenly on top, smoothing the surface with an offset spatula.
- Add Chocolate Chips (sides): Gently press some chocolate chips into the exposed sides for a professional finish.
- Freeze: Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6–8 hours, or overnight, until solid.
