Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream Cake

Part 2: The Ice Cream Filling

Ingredients:

  • 2 quarts (1.89 liters) chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, slightly softened
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. First Ice Cream Layer: Spread half of the softened ice cream evenly over the frozen crust.
  2. Add Chocolate Chips: Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over the first layer.
  3. Second Ice Cream Layer: Spread the remaining ice cream evenly on top, smoothing the surface with an offset spatula.
  4. Add Chocolate Chips (sides): Gently press some chocolate chips into the exposed sides for a professional finish.
  5. Freeze: Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6–8 hours, or overnight, until solid.
