🔸 1. Prepare the Chocolate Base

  1. Preheat the oven to 175°C.A hot oven helps set the crust quickly, giving it a firm structure before filling.
  2. Mix the crumbs, sugar, and melted butter in a bowl.The mixture should feel like damp sand; every crumb should be moistened evenly.
  3. Press the mixture lightly into the bottom and sides of a 23 cm springform pan.Use the back of a spoon or a flat cup to compact the crust firmly for clean slices later.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes.This brief bake intensifies the chocolate aroma and helps the crust hold its shape.
  5. Let cool, then wrap the outside of the pan tightly with aluminum foil for a water bath.Ensure no gaps remain—this prevents water from leaking into the crust during baking.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 160°C.
