Chopped Shrimp Fried Rice with Soy & Five Spice

Instructions

Cook the Extra Fluffy Rice:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil. Stir in the butter and chicken-flavored bouillon until fully dissolved. This creates a flavorful base for the rice.
  2. Add the uncooked rice directly to the boiling water (no rinsing). Stir briefly to prevent sticking, cover tightly, and immediately reduce the heat to low.
  3. Let the rice steam undisturbed for 15 minutes. Do not lift the lid — this traps the steam and cooks the rice evenly.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and place a clean paper towel over the pot, then replace the lid. Let rest off heat for 5 more minutes to absorb excess moisture and fluff the grains.
  5. Remove lid and towel, then fluff gently with a fork. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
