Classic German Cake with Cream and Apricot Jam 🇩🇪

🛒 Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet baking powder (approx. 10–12 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream:

  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1–2 tablespoons cream (whipped separately, optional for lightness)

For the Filling:

  • Apricot jam

For the Topping:

  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
