Cook the Chicken:
Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook the chicken breasts for 5-7 minutes per side, until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside to rest for a few minutes. Slice the chicken into strips or cubes.
Cook the Pasta:
While the chicken cooks, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the fettuccine pasta according to the package directions (usually about 10-12 minutes). Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water in case the sauce needs to be thinned out later.
