Creamy Chicken Tetrazzini 🧀🍗

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook linguini according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2️⃣ Make the Cream Sauce

  1. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and mushrooms (if using) and sauté another 2 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir constantly for 1 minute to create a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in the chicken broth until smooth, then add the heavy cream.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning if using. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.

3️⃣ Combine & Assemble

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, and sauce. Stir in half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
  2. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar, mozzarella, and all of the Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
