: Creamy Mexican White Cheese Dip (Queso Blanco Style)

Instructions

1. Melt the Cheese

  1. In a medium saucepan, add the white American cheese and ½ cup of whole milk. Set over low heat.
  2. Stir frequently using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon. As the cheese begins to melt, continue stirring to prevent sticking or scorching.

2. Add Spices & Flavor

  1. Once the cheese has mostly melted, stir in the onion powder, cumin, garlic powder, and chili powder if using. These seasonings give the queso its signature Tex-Mex aroma and taste.
  2. If using green chiles, stir them in now. They add depth without overpowering the mild, creamy base.

3. Adjust Consistency

  1. If the dip is too thick, add more milk a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired texture. It should be pourable but not runny.
  2. Taste and adjust salt if needed. Some cheeses are saltier than others, so season to your preference.
