1οΈβ£ Prepare the Apples π
- Peel and core the apples, then cut them into thin wedges, about ΒΌ-inch thick. You can also cut them into fries if you prefer a fry-like shape.
- Set the apple wedges aside in a bowl of water with a little lemon juice to prevent browning, if desired.
2οΈβ£ Make the Coating π§π
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg until well-beaten, then add the flour and sparkling water to create a batter.
3οΈβ£ Coat the Apple Wedges ππ§
- Dip each apple wedge into the cornstarch mixture, ensuring it’s fully coated, then dip it into the batter to coat it with the crispy batter.
4οΈβ£ Fry the Apple Fries ππ₯
- Heat oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. The oil should be about 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- Carefully place the coated apple wedges into the hot oil in batches, frying for 2β3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Remove the apple fries from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
5οΈβ£ Serve & Drizzle π―
- Serve the crispy apple fries immediately, warm and fresh.
- If desired, drizzle with caramel sauce for an added sweet finish.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
