Crispy Filipino Lumpia – A Favorite Appetizer!

Steps

  1. Cook the Filling: In a pan, cook ground meat, onion, and garlic over medium heat. Stir frequently until the meat is browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  2. Add Vegetables and Seasoning: Mix in shredded carrots and soy sauce. Cook for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Assemble the Lumpia: Place one egg roll wrapper on a flat surface, with a corner facing you. Spoon about 1½ tablespoons of filling near the bottom edge. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly toward the top. Seal the edge with a dab of water. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. Fry to Perfection: Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add Lumpia in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3–5 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve warm with sweet chili sauce for dipping. Enjoy the crunch and flavor in every bite!
