1οΈβ£ Prepare the Hash Browns
- If using fresh potatoes, grate them finely and place in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth to squeeze out excess moisture.
- If using frozen hash browns, thaw them and squeeze out excess liquid as well.
- In a bowl, mix the shredded potatoes with the egg, shredded cheddar cheese (if using), salt, and pepper until well combined.
2οΈβ£ Preheat the Waffle Iron
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease the plates with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
3οΈβ£ Cook the Hash Brown Waffles
- Place an even amount of the potato mixture onto the preheated waffle iron. Spread it out evenly to cover the surface.
- Close the waffle iron and cook for 5β7 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and let them cool slightly on a wire rack to maintain crispness.

- Serve the hash brown waffles hot with your choice of toppings like sour cream, green onions, or extra cheese. You can also add a poached or fried egg on top for an extra indulgence!
