: Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Stuffed Wonton Bites

Instructions

Prepare the Cheesecake Filling

  1. Beat the cream cheese. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. The cream cheese should be soft enough to blend easily, so it’s best to let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before mixing.
  2. Mix in strawberry jam. Add the strawberry jam to the cream cheese mixture, stirring gently to combine. If you prefer, you can add a few diced fresh strawberries to the mixture for a chunkier filling with more texture and flavor.

Assemble the Wonton Bites

  1. Prepare the wonton wrappers. Place a wonton wrapper on a flat surface and spoon 1 teaspoon of the cheesecake filling onto the center of the wrapper. Be careful not to overfill, as you need to seal the edges properly.
  2. Seal the edges. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper over the filling to form a triangle or envelope shape. Press firmly around the edges to seal, making sure there are no air bubbles around the filling. This will help prevent the filling from leaking out during frying.
  3. Repeat the process. Continue assembling the wonton bites with the remaining wrappers and filling. You should have enough to make 20–24 wontons, depending on how much filling you use in each one.

Fry the Wonton Bites

  1. Heat the oil. In a deep skillet or saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Use enough oil to fully submerge the wontons, which helps them fry evenly and get crispy.
  2. Fry the wontons. Fry the wonton bites in batches, about 1–2 minutes per side, until they are golden brown and crispy. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan, as this can cause the oil temperature to drop and lead to uneven frying.
  3. Drain excess oil. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried wontons from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil.

Serve

  1. Garnish and serve. Serve the fried strawberry cheesecake wonton bites warm with a dollop of whipped cream, extra strawberry jam or sauce, and fresh strawberry slices for garnish. The combination of hot, creamy filling and cold, fresh toppings creates the perfect balance.

Serving Notes

These cheesecake-stuffed wonton bites are perfect for serving at parties, gatherings, or as a fun dessert for the family. The creamy, fruity filling paired with the crispy shell makes them irresistible. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days, but they are best enjoyed fresh out of the fryer for the ultimate texture and flavor.
