- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray to ensure the casserole doesn’t stick and bakes evenly.
- Prepare the casserole mixture. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, stuffing mix, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. If you’re using the optional butter, melt it and stir it into the mixture for added richness and flavor.
- Bake the casserole. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
