Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Preparing the oven first ensures the casserole heats evenly once assembled.
- Mix the chicken base. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, and frozen mixed vegetables. Stir until everything is fully blended. The mixture should look creamy and well-coated, with the vegetables distributed evenly throughout.
- Prepare the stuffing mix. In a separate bowl, follow the package instructions to prepare the stuffing. Allow it to sit for a moment so it absorbs the liquid and becomes fluffy before adding it to the casserole.
- Assemble the casserole. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the chicken and vegetable mixture evenly along the bottom to create a smooth base layer.
- Add the stuffing topping. Spoon the prepared stuffing over the chicken mixture. Spread it out evenly, covering the entire surface. This top layer will brown beautifully as it bakes, creating the classic stuffing texture.
- Bake until golden. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes. The casserole is done when the stuffing topping is golden brown and crisp in spots, and the chicken layer is bubbling around the edges.
- Rest and garnish. Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes to help everything set. Add fresh parsley on top if you’d like a touch of color and a bit of freshness before serving.
