Instructions
- Preheat the oven. Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) to get it nice and hot while you prepare the chicken.
- Prepare the chicken. Place the chicken breasts in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. You can use fresh or thawed chicken breasts. Make sure the chicken is in a single layer for even cooking.
- Cover with soup and seasoning. Spread the cream of chicken soup evenly over the chicken breasts. Sprinkle the entire packet of onion soup mix over the soup-covered chicken. The soup mix will infuse the chicken with flavor as it cooks.
- Add the stuffing. Prepare the Stove Top stuffing according to the package instructions. Once the stuffing is ready, spread it evenly over the chicken and soup mixture. The stuffing will cook on top of the chicken, soaking in all the flavors.
- Cover and bake. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or less if the chicken breasts are thin. The foil helps the chicken cook evenly and prevents it from drying out.
- Uncover to crisp the stuffing. After baking for 1 hour, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15 minutes, or until the stuffing turns golden brown and crispy on top.
- Serve. Once the chicken is fully cooked and the stuffing is crispy, remove the dish from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve this dish with your favorite side dishes for a complete meal!
