French Onion Soup Burgers – Juicy, Melty & Loaded with Caramelized Onions

Instructions

1. Caramelize the Onions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the sliced onions and sugar. Stir occasionally and cook for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and caramelized.
  3. If the onions start to stick, deglaze the pan with a splash of beef broth and continue cooking.
  4. Once done, set the onions aside.

2. Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Don’t overmix.
  2. Form into 4 even patties, slightly wider than your buns.
  3. Cook the patties in a skillet or on a grill over medium-high heat, about 3–4 minutes per side, or to desired doneness.
