Garlic Butter Cajun Seafood Boil

Prepare the Cajun Garlic Butter Sauce:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until fully liquified and beginning to foam.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30–60 seconds until aromatic and lightly golden — avoid browning the garlic.
  3. Stir in the Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), and brown sugar. Add the lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and several cracks of black pepper. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, allowing the spices to bloom and the sauce to thicken slightly.

Combine and Serve:

  1. Immediately pour the hot Cajun garlic butter sauce over the seafood, corn, and potatoes in the tray. Use tongs or two large spoons to gently toss everything together, ensuring each piece is generously coated in sauce.
  2. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and arrange lemon wedges around the tray for squeezing over just before eating.
  3. Serve immediately while steaming hot. Accompany with crusty bread for dipping or extra sauce on the side. This dish is best enjoyed family-style, with plenty of napkins and good company.

Serving Tip

Line your table with parchment paper or newspaper for easy cleanup and that true seafood boil feel. For extra indulgence, serve with drawn butter, lemon aioli, or a side of seasoned rice. A chilled beer or glass of crisp white wine pairs beautifully with the bold Cajun spices.
