Garlic Herb Shrimp Skillet

Instructions

    1. Season the Shrimp: Pat the shrimp dry thoroughly with paper towels to help them sear instead of steam. Season evenly with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Italian seasoning. Toss gently until the spices coat each piece, ensuring even browning and deeper flavor during cooking. Set aside while you heat the skillet so the seasoning has a moment to absorb.
    2. Sauté the Garlic & Butter: In a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter begins to foam slightly, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds, stirring constantly, just until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden at the edges. Be careful not to let it brown too much—garlic can turn bitter quickly at high heat.
    3. Cook the Shrimp: Arrange the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the hot skillet so they cook evenly. Let them sear undisturbed for 1–2 minutes on the first side, watching as they begin to curl and turn opaque around the edges. Flip each shrimp and cook another 1–2 minutes on the second side until fully pink and cooked through. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the shrimp and toss gently in the buttery garlic mixture so the citrus lifts the richness and brightens the final flavor.
