: Gourmet Surf and Turf Tacos

  1. Season the Steak: Pat the steak dry and rub with olive oil, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and lime juice. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes while preparing the shrimp.
  2. Season the Shrimp: Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, cumin, chili flakes, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Cook the Steak: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness), or until desired doneness. Rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  4. Cook the Shrimp: Using the same pan or a separate skillet, cook the shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat immediately to avoid overcooking.
  5. Make the Creamy Sauce (Optional): Stir together the sour cream, lime juice, chipotle, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  6. Warm the Tortillas: Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over a flame to soften and char lightly.
  7. Assemble the Tacos: Layer cabbage or lettuce onto each tortilla. Add slices of steak and a few shrimp. Top with pico de gallo, red onion, cilantro, and a drizzle of creamy sauce if using.
  8. Serve: Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime juice and serve immediately.
