Grilled Cheese Sloppy Joes on Texas Toast

  1. Grill the sandwiches:
Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat. Working in batches if needed, place the sandwiches onto the hot surface. Cook for 2–4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and crisp, and the cheese inside is fully melted. Press lightly with a spatula to ensure even browning and help the cheese melt through the layers. Adjust heat as needed to avoid burning the bread before the cheese melts.
  2. Serve:
Once grilled to perfection, transfer the sandwiches to a cutting board. Let them rest for 1 minute, then slice in half if desired. Serve hot and gooey, with chips, fries, or a side salad for a complete comfort meal. Enjoy the crunch of toasted bread, the melty cheese, and the savory, seasoned sloppy joe filling in every bite.

Storage & Reheating

Leftovers can be wrapped in foil and refrigerated for up to 2 days. Reheat on a skillet or in the oven to restore crispiness. Microwaving is not recommended, as it may make the bread soggy. For meal prep, store the filling separately and assemble fresh sandwiches when ready to serve.
