  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.The mixture should resemble coarse sand with visible pea-sized butter pieces.
  3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla, and heavy cream until dough forms.Add cream gradually—the dough should come together without becoming sticky.
  4. Press evenly into the pan and bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden. Cool completely.A fully cooled crust prevents heat from softening the cheesecake batter too early.
