1️⃣ Mix the cake
In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir well to break up any clumps, ensuring the cocoa and leavening agents are evenly dispersed for consistent flavor and rise. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix gently until a thick, smooth batter forms. Avoid overmixing—just enough to create a cohesive, lump-free mixture—so the cake bakes tender and soft.
2️⃣ Pour the dough into the pan
Spread the prepared batter into a 20–22 cm square baking pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula. Keeping the layer even prevents thin spots from overbaking and helps the top portion set into a uniform cake layer while the bottom remains molten.
3️⃣ Fudge powder mixture
In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder. Sprinkle this dry mixture evenly over the surface of the batter without stirring it in. This creates a barrier that melts and transforms into the fudge layer while the cake rises above it.
4️⃣ Add hot water
