Jalapeño Pepper Jack Summer Sausage

Form and Bake the Sausage

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). While the oven heats, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Shape the chilled meat mixture into logs roughly 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. Keeping the logs consistent in size helps them cook evenly.
  3. Place the formed logs onto the prepared baking sheet. Transfer the sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until each sausage log reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Checking the temperature ensures the sausage is fully cooked while remaining juicy.
