Form and Bake the Sausage
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). While the oven heats, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Shape the chilled meat mixture into logs roughly 1.5 to 2 inches in diameter. Keeping the logs consistent in size helps them cook evenly.
- Place the formed logs onto the prepared baking sheet. Transfer the sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until each sausage log reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Checking the temperature ensures the sausage is fully cooked while remaining juicy.
