Keto Burger Buns and Juicy Homemade Burgers

  • 500 g (1.1 lbs) ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Burger Assembly

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Cheese slices (cheddar, mozzarella, or preferred)
  • Keto-friendly sauces (e.g., mayonnaise, mustard, sugar-free ketchup)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Keto Burger Buns

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients thoroughly to eliminate clumps and evenly distribute the leavening agent.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until well mixed. Add the melted butter and warm water, whisking until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix well with a spatula or your hands until a thick, pliable dough forms. The dough should be moist but not sticky and hold its shape easily when rolled.
  5. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten slightly to form a bun shape. Arrange them on the prepared baking tray with space between each.
  6. Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds for a classic burger bun look and added texture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Avoid overbaking, as this may dry out the buns.
  8. Transfer the buns to a wire rack and allow to cool completely. This helps the texture firm up and prevents them from becoming soggy during assembly.

2. Make the Burger Patties
