Preparation

1️⃣ Prepare the Cream

  1. Whip the cream: Pour the cold cream into a deep mixing bowl. Whip at medium-high speed until it doubles in volume and forms soft peaks. Keeping the cream cold helps it whip faster and hold more air, giving the dessert a lighter consistency.
  2. Add remaining ingredients: Pour in the milk, add the cream cheese or mascarpone if using, vanilla, and milk jam or powdered sugar. Whip again until smooth, creamy, and uniform. The mixture should be thick enough to spread easily but still light.
  3. Chill briefly: Place the cream mixture in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes. This short resting time allows it to firm slightly, making layering easier and helping the cream stay stable once assembled.
