Mississippi Mud Pie 🍫🥧🔥

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Crust

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until evenly moistened.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden. Remove and let cool completely.

2️⃣ Make the Chocolate Filling

  1. In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, and chocolate chips over medium-low heat. Stir until chocolate is melted and smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Slowly pour some of the warm chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture to temper the eggs, whisking constantly.
  4. Return everything to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 5–7 minutes).
  5. Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled crust and smooth the top.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.
