Then the doors opened, and everything changed.
The man who entered wasn’t what anyone expected. He wore simple clothes, yes — but his posture was straight, his eyes calm and intelligent. He took my hand gently and whispered, “Trust me.” Those two words steadied my heart.
When the priest asked the familiar question — “If anyone objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace…” — the man raised his hand.
“Yes,” he said clearly, then turned to the stunned guests. “My name is Elias Thorne. I’m the CEO of Thorne Global Holdings. For the past six months, I’ve been living in disguise. This woman is the only person who saw me for who I truly am, even when I appeared to have nothing.”
A murmur rippled through the church. Faces turned pale; cameras flashed. Linda tried to interrupt, shouting that it was a lie. But Elias had prepared everything.
