Gently fold in the peanut butter chips and your chosen amount of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Folding rather than stirring vigorously helps keep the dough from becoming tough and ensures the chips are distributed evenly throughout.
Press the dough evenly into your prepared 9×13 pan. Because the dough is thick, you may need to use clean, lightly dampened hands or the back of a spatula to smooth it into an even layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the edges turn lightly golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out mostly clean, with a few soft crumbs indicating the bars will remain chewy as they cool.
