Peanut Butter Earthquake Cake

4️⃣ Add Chocolate

Sprinkle chocolate chips and peanut butter chocolate chips evenly over the surface. These melt into the cake as it bakes, creating pockets of gooey richness.

5️⃣ Baking

Bake at 350°F (170°C) for 35–45 minutes. The top will form cracks and the center may remain slightly soft—this is part of the classic Earthquake Cake texture. Avoid overbaking, as the molten center is what makes it special.

6️⃣ Resting

Allow the cake to cool for 15–20 minutes. When warm, the texture will be gooey and flowing; once cooled, it becomes thicker and more set but still wonderfully moist.

Serving Suggestions

  • Top with vanilla ice cream for contrast.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over each slice.
  • Add extra peanut butter swirls on top before serving.
  • Finish with a pinch of sea salt for a gourmet touch.
