Star-Shaped Cheese Puffs with Sweet & Spicy Pepper Jelly

  1. Preheat Oven: Set oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prep Puff Pastry: Lightly flour your work surface. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and gently roll to even out creases and slightly thin the dough.
  3. Cheese Layer – Option 1 (Sprinkled Stars): Brush entire surface with egg wash. Sprinkle generously with grated cheeses. Cut stars with the cookie cutter.
  4. Cheese Layer – Option 2 (Folded Puffier Stars): Sprinkle cheese over half the pastry sheet. Fold the other half over to encase the cheese. Lightly roll to seal. Cut stars from the filled pastry.
  5. Arrange & Bake: Place cut-outs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with a pinch of cheese, if desired.
  6. Cook: Bake for 10–15 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Cool: Let cool slightly on the tray before serving with jelly.

🔥 Ingredients:

  • 3 medium red bell peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 4 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped (adjust seeds for heat level)
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 package (1.75 oz or 3.5 tbsp) powdered pectin
