Steak and Crispy French Fries 🥩🍟 – A Classic, Flavorful Meal

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Fries 🍟

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
  2. Peel and cut the potatoes into thin fries, ensuring even thickness for uniform cooking.
  3. Place the fries on the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly, then season with salt and any optional spices (garlic powder, paprika, etc.).
  4. Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.

2️⃣ Cook the Steak 🥩

  1. While the fries are baking, season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet (preferably cast-iron) over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time based on your preferred doneness (use a meat thermometer if necessary: 130°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
  4. During the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the skillet and spoon it over the steaks as it melts for extra flavor.
  5. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.

3️⃣ Serve the Dish 🍽️

  • Serve the steaks hot alongside the crispy French fries.
  • Garnish with additional salt or a sprinkle of fresh herbs, if desired.
  • Optional: Serve with a side of ketchup, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce for the fries.
