👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Fries 🍟
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat for easy cleanup.
- Peel and cut the potatoes into thin fries, ensuring even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Place the fries on the baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly, then season with salt and any optional spices (garlic powder, paprika, etc.).
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy.
2️⃣ Cook the Steak 🥩
- While the fries are baking, season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet (preferably cast-iron) over medium-high heat.
- Add the steaks and sear for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time based on your preferred doneness (use a meat thermometer if necessary: 130°F for medium-rare, 145°F for medium).
- During the last minute of cooking, add the butter to the skillet and spoon it over the steaks as it melts for extra flavor.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
3️⃣ Serve the Dish 🍽️
- Serve the steaks hot alongside the crispy French fries.
- Garnish with additional salt or a sprinkle of fresh herbs, if desired.
- Optional: Serve with a side of ketchup, aioli, or your favorite dipping sauce for the fries.
