Subway Sweet Onion Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons white distilled vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon buttermilk powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon poppy seed
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch cracked black pepper
  • 1 pinch garlic powder

Instructions

In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until evenly mixed. Heat the mixture uncovered in the microwave for about 1 to 1½ minutes on high, or until it begins to boil rapidly. Once boiling, whisk thoroughly to blend all the flavors together. Cover and allow the sauce to cool completely.

Alternatively, you can bring the mixture to a boil on the stovetop over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once cooled, transfer the sauce to a sealed container and refrigerate. It keeps well indefinitely, so you’ll always have a batch ready to add a delicious sweet-and-savory touch to your meals.

Serve this sauce as a dressing for sandwiches, wraps, or salads, and enjoy that signature Subway-style flavor at home. One taste and you’ll see why this recipe is worth keeping forever! ❤️
