Ingredients
- 1 ½ lb (700 g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 8 slices cooked bacon, crispy
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or American cheese for a classic flavor)
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 tomato, diced
- ¼ cup pickles, sliced
- Ketchup and mustard, for drizzling
- Olive oil, for cooking (optional)
Instructions
- Start by cooking the ground beef. In a large skillet, heat a small amount of olive oil (or skip the oil if your beef is fatty enough) over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Continue cooking until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess fat from the skillet and set the beef aside.
- While the beef cooks, prepare the bacon. In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Once the bacon is cooked, transfer it to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess grease. Set it aside to cool slightly, then crumble or chop it into bite-sized pieces.
- Now, assemble your burrito filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, crispy bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir everything together until the cheese starts to melt and everything is well combined. The warm beef will help melt the cheese, creating a gooey, cheesy filling that holds together perfectly.
