Triple Cheese Bacon Explosion Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 16–20 slices of thick-cut bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef (or pulled/shredded beef, if preferred)
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 types of cheese (suggested: cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone)
  • Bread of your choice (e.g., sourdough, brioche, or hearty white bread)
  • Butter for toasting the bread (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the bacon. In a large skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on paper towels to drain any excess fat. Set aside.
  2. Next, cook the ground beef in the same skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Season the beef with garlic powder and a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking until the beef is browned and fully cooked through. If you’re using pulled or shredded beef, skip this step and simply heat the beef in the skillet until warmed through.
  3. While the beef is cooking, prepare your sandwich bread. If you prefer a crispy, golden crust, butter the outside of your bread slices lightly and toast them in a separate skillet or on a griddle over medium heat until golden brown. This step adds extra flavor and texture to your sandwich.
  4. Now, it’s time to assemble your sandwich! Start by placing a layer of cheese on one slice of the toasted bread. You can use a combination of cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone for the ultimate cheesy experience. Layer on the ground or shredded beef, followed by several slices of crispy bacon. Top with another layer of cheese, ensuring the sandwich is loaded with gooey, melted cheese.
  5. Place the second slice of toasted bread on top to complete the sandwich. If you’d like, you can grill the sandwich on both sides in the skillet, pressing it slightly to ensure the cheese melts thoroughly. Grill for 1-2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
