Ultra Moist Homemade Decadent Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

This richly flavored chocolate cake uses simple pantry ingredients, yet delivers an ultra-moist texture and deep cocoa aroma. Each component plays a role in creating a tender crumb and a glossy, luxurious ganache topping.

  • For the cake:
    • 1 + ¾ cups flour
    • ¾ cup cocoa powder (sifted)
    • 1 + ½ teaspoons baking powder
    • 1 + ½ teaspoons baking soda
    • 1 pinch of salt
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 cup buttermilk (1 cup milk + 1 tbsp lemon juice, let sit for 5 min)
    • ½ cup vegetable oil
    • 2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 cup hot coffee (deepens the cocoa flavor; hot water can be used instead)
  • Chocolate Ganache Cream:
    • 200 ml cream
    • 200 g dark chocolate (chopped)
    • 1 tbsp butter (for shine)
