Vanilla Cake Squares with Whipped Frosting

Assembling the Cake Squares

  1. Once the cake has completely cooled, spread the whipped frosting evenly over the top of the cake using a spatula. You can spread it as thick or thin as you like, depending on your preference for frosting.
    – For a decorative touch, you can add sprinkles, shredded coconut, or fresh berries on top of the frosting to make the cake even more visually appealing.
  2. Cut the cake into squares, and serve immediately, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours to allow the frosting to set.

Serving Suggestions

  • These vanilla cake squares are perfect for a party, afternoon tea, or as a sweet treat for a family gathering. Serve them with a side of fresh fruit or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent dessert.
  • If you like, drizzle some chocolate sauce over the top of the frosting or add a sprinkle of cocoa powder for a chocolatey contrast to the vanilla cake.

Notes

  • If you prefer a dairy-free version, you can substitute the whole milk with almond milk or another plant-based milk, and use a dairy-free whipped topping for the frosting.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance. Just store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate if you prefer a chilled cake.
  • If you want to add a bit of fruit flavor to the frosting, consider folding in some fruit puree (like strawberry or raspberry) once the whipped cream has reached stiff peaks.
