Ingredients
- For the Rim:
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (for dipping the rim)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (for coating the rim)
- For the Drink:
- ½ cup fresh mint leaves (for flavor)
- 1 ½ ounces simple syrup (for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (for a tart, citrus kick)
- 1 ounce light rum (for a smooth base)
- 1 ounce coconut rum (for a tropical twist)
- ¼ cup (56.5 g) canned unsweetened coconut milk (for creaminess)
- Crushed ice (for serving)
- Club soda (to top off the drink and add effervescence)
- Sugared cranberries (for garnish, optional but adds festive sparkle)
Instructions
- Prepare the rim: Begin by dipping the edge of each glass into lime juice. Then, dip it into granulated sugar to coat the rim with a sugared crust. Set the prepared glasses aside.
- Muddle the mint: In a cocktail shaker, add the fresh mint leaves and simple syrup. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press down and muddle the mint, releasing its flavorful oils and aroma.
- Mix the drink: To the shaker, add the lime juice, light rum, coconut rum, coconut milk, and a handful of crushed ice. Shake well until everything is chilled and well combined.
- Assemble the drink: Fill each prepared glass with more crushed ice. Strain the mojito mixture from the shaker into the glasses, pouring over the ice.
- Top with club soda: Top each drink with a splash of club soda for a fizzy, refreshing finish. Give it a gentle stir to combine the ingredients.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish each mojito with a few sugared cranberries on top for a festive touch. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing, tropical holiday cocktail!
