3. Make the Cream Filling:
- In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
- In a separate bowl, combine sour cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the sour cream mixture to create a light, silky frosting.
4. Assemble the Cake:
- Place the first cake layer on your serving dish and spread with a generous amount of cream.
- Repeat with remaining layers, stacking evenly and spreading cream between each.
- Cover the top and sides with the remaining cream.
- Crumble one of the cooled layers or trim edges for crumbs, and use them to coat the outside of the cake.
