Bacon Cheeseburger Stuffed Tater Tot Cones

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 24 frozen tater tots
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4-6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup diced onions (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Ketchup and mustard (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. This will help ensure the tater tots cook evenly and don’t stick to the pan.
  2. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake them according to the package instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Once baked, remove the tater tots from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
  3. While the tater tots are baking, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Break the beef apart with a spoon as it cooks. Once the beef is browned and fully cooked through, drain any excess fat. Season the beef with salt and pepper to taste. For added flavor, you can sauté some diced onions with the beef for a few minutes until they become translucent and soft.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, allowing it to melt into the beef mixture. This will create a gooey, cheesy filling for the tater tot cones. You can also add crumbled bacon at this point if you want the bacon mixed in with the filling. For extra crunch, reserve some bacon to sprinkle on top later.
