Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (Rich, Chewy & Extra Flavorful)

Instructions

Step 1: Brown the Butter

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Continue cooking, stirring often, until the butter foams, then turns golden brown with a nutty aroma and small brown bits at the bottom (about 5–7 minutes).
  2. Remove from heat and pour into a large mixing bowl. Let cool for 10–15 minutes until just warm, not hot.

Step 2: Mix Wet Ingredients

  1. Add the brown sugar and granulated sugar to the browned butter. Stir until smooth and combined.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until glossy and slightly thickened.

Step 3: Add Dry Ingredients

  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined (do not overmix).
  3. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
