Cheese Danish Delight Bake — A Heavenly Cream Cheese

Ingredients

For the Danish Base:

  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze (optional):

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (or more for desired consistency)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray to prevent the Danish from sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and arrange it on the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching the seams together to form a solid base. You may need to stretch the dough slightly to cover the entire bottom of the dish. This will serve as the flaky, buttery crust for your cheese filling.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Use an electric mixer or a hand whisk to combine the ingredients thoroughly. Add the vanilla extract and mix again until everything is well incorporated. The cream cheese should be light and fluffy, with no lumps remaining in the mixture.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent roll dough in the baking dish, smoothing it out with a spatula. Make sure the filling is spread all the way to the edges of the dough to create a uniform layer.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and lay it over the cream cheese filling, pinching the seams together to seal the edges. This top layer will create a golden, flaky crust that will bake beautifully on top of the filling.
