Ingredients
- For the Chicken:
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced (for the base of the filling)
- For the Cheese Filling:
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (for a rich, melty filling)
- ¼ cup cream cheese, softened (for creaminess and smooth texture)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for garlic flavor)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for sautéing)
- For the Wrap:
- 4 large flour tortillas (or whole wheat, if preferred)
- Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, hot sauce, or salsa
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the shredded or diced cooked chicken, shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, and garlic powder. Stir everything together until well mixed, creating a thick and creamy filling.
- Heat the wraps: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter over medium heat. Warm the flour tortillas in the skillet for about 30 seconds on each side, just until they’re soft and pliable. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- Assemble the wraps: Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spoon the cheesy chicken mixture onto the center of the tortilla, spreading it evenly across the middle. You can use as much or as little of the filling as you like, depending on your preference.
- Wrap it up: Fold the sides of the tortilla in, then roll it tightly from the bottom to the top, securing the filling inside. Repeat this process for the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Cook the wraps: In the same skillet, add a little more oil or butter if needed. Place the wrapped tortillas seam-side down in the skillet and cook over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy. This step will help seal the wraps and give them a slightly crunchy exterior.
- Serve: Once all the wraps are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing them in half. Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream, hot sauce, or salsa for an extra burst of flavor!
