Chocolate Norwegian Cake (Verdens Beste) 🍫🇳🇴 – Rich, Creamy & Absolutely Irresistible

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Cake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F), or 160°C (320°F) with a fan. Grease and flour a round cake pan (8 or 9-inch).
  2. In a double boiler or heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the butter and chocolate. Stir until smooth, then set aside to cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  4. Gently stir the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture until combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the sifted flour until no streaks remain—don’t overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  7. Let the cake cool completely in the pan, then remove and slice horizontally into two even layers.
