Classic Children’s Cake

👩‍🍳 Preparation

1️⃣ Cream the Base:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, and margarine.
  2. Using a whisk or electric mixer, beat until a light and creamy mixture forms — this helps create a fluffy texture.

2️⃣ Add Flour and Milk:

  1. Alternate adding the flour and milk in batches, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
  2. If the batter curdles (which may happen if margarine is too cold or overmixed), add 2 extra tablespoons of flour to bring it back to a smooth consistency.

3️⃣ Incorporate Baking Powder:

  1. Add the baking powder last and gently stir it into the batter with a spatula or spoon — don’t overmix.

4️⃣ Bake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease and flour a medium-sized cake pan (round or rectangular).
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface.
  4. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
