Prepare the Oven and Crust

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven heats, prepare your unbaked pie crust by fitting it into a 9-inch pie dish. Gently press the crust against the sides and bottom of the dish, trimming any excess dough. For extra crispiness, you can chill the crust for 10–15 minutes before filling.

Make the Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the corn syrup and packed brown sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Add the melted butter, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, mixing until smooth and uniform. The mixture should have a glossy, slightly thick consistency, which ensures a rich, custardy filling once baked.
  2. Fold in the chopped pecans evenly, ensuring they are fully coated in the syrupy mixture. This will give each slice a consistent nutty flavor and texture.
