1. Cake Layers
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease three 8-inch (20 cm) pans and line with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter for 30 seconds. Add granulated sugar + vegetable oil and beat for 2 minutes until fluffy.
- Add sour cream and vanilla; mix again.
- Alternate adding the milk and dry mixture (dry β milk β dry β milk β dry).
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Fold half of the egg whites into the batter, then fold in the remaining egg whites along with the chopped Oreos.
- Divide batter evenly among the 3 pans.
- Bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then cool completely on wire racks.
